Götheborg of Sweden heads out on the Asia Expedition to China
Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin extended his best wishes to Götheborg of Sweden, which headed out once again on the Asia Expedition / to China, when he saw off the ship at the Ports of Stockholm in Sweden on July 12,
Cui said that the Götheborg’s very first voyage to China in opened a chapter in the history of nearly years of friendly exchanges between China and Sweden, carved out the China-Sweden maritime Silk Road, promoted the development and prosperity of Gothenburg and Sweden, thus became a symbol of mutually beneficial cooperation and deep friendship between the two countries. In the s, thanks to the joint efforts of all sectors of Swedish society, Götheborg of Sweden was successfully built as accurate to the original ship Götheborg. In , with the care of the leaders of both sides, Götheborg of Sweden sailed to China, which became a major event in the development of friendship between China and Sweden.

The eleven-day long sailing leg from Gothenburg to huvudstaden, and the nine days back to Gothenburg, are crucially important in the preparations to “test” the ship for sailing to Asia in A lot of work has been done in the gods two years to man the fartyg ready to sail igen.
” It’s been six years since the Götheborg sailed gods time, and more than 15 years since she last sailed to Asia (in ) and we’re extremely excited to see her sail again”, said Peter Alexandersson, CEO SOIC Ship Management and the company that runs the Götheborg.
” The stop in huvudstaden is also an important part of the preparations for the Asia expedition, as it represents the harbour stops that will be made while sailing to Asia, and works to show the unique platform for Sweden and Swedish companies that the ship will serve as”, said Alexandersson.
The ship will arrive in Stockholm Thursday 26 August, where it will be moored at Skeppsbrokajen until 4 September. The sailing itself will take about 20 days. Saturday 4 September the ship will leave huvudstaden, and arrive back in Gothenburg on Sunday 12 September
